In addition to being active Safe Lane Coalition members, a few agencies have committed to large scale, public safety goals to eliminate loss of life and severe injury on our transportation network. The City of Eugene has adopted Vision Zero resolutions, which set a goal of zero traffic fatalities or serious injuries, and is in the process of finalizing the Vision Zero Action Plan. The City of Springfield has accepted the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Mayors’ Challenge for Safer People, Safer Streets and Lane County has identified Towards Zero Deaths as a key piece of its upcoming transportation safety plan.
